Hervé Lenouvel and the beauty of trust
When we first came across Hervé Lenouvel’s work, it was love at first sight. That was four years ago, right at the start-up phase of our company. We were instantly drawn to his poetic use of pastel tones, his way of capturing the real through abstract expression. Hervé describes his style as a form of realism, but it’s one that breathes, dances, and shifts with the energy of abstraction. It felt alive. And we knew — this was something special.
But sometimes, even when the match feels perfect, timing isn’t on your side.
Back then, Hervé had a number of ongoing collaborations with galleries in France. He was hesitant to take on anything new, especially because he thought the new partnership might bring administrative and logistical overhead. We respected that and decided to give it all time to rest.
Still, the connection stayed in the background, gently alive.
It was through a mutual artist friend — someone we were already working with — that the door to collaboration finally opened. And then everything went very fast, in parallel to the US market, we saw an opportunity in the UK. What followed was a shift in perception: Hervé realised we weren’t just another player adding to his workload — we were there to carry the weight with him.
Suddenly, the separate emailing, artwork distribution, gallery negotiations… it was all handled. With us behind the scenes, Hervé could do what he does best: inspirational walks in nature, feel the pulse of the landscape, and transform that into color, form, and feeling on canvas.
Today, Hervé is represented in over 10 galleries across the US and the UK. He’s found the right partners, and we’ve found an artist who inspires us endlessly. Our collaboration has become one of complete trust. We’re in regular contact, always a call or message away, while Hervé stays immersed in his creative rhythm.
This journey with Hervé is a reminder that in the world of art, as in life, timing matters. The right connection at the wrong time might not bloom — but when patience meets opportunity, something beautiful can grow.
