During an art exhibition in Florida, Steve Tracy (originally from California) met the love of his life, whom he decided to follow to Ontario. Steve Tracy then succumbs to the vastness of the Canadian landscape: “The more I travel and see the beauty of Canada, the more I want to capture it in my paintings,” says Steve Tracy.
Steve Tracy has created several series on the wild landscapes of Western Canada. About the “Morning Maples” Steve Tracy was telling me how much he loved how the sun “shotguns” through the surface of the earth and lights the mid trunk like lanterns. It’s one of those moments in time that seem like a slice of eternity…
Steve Tracy said in an interview: “My artwork is really a reflection of myself, but I often approach scenes that are not necessarily real, because I need to escape, to project myself sometimes in totally different geographical places. I paint seven days a week, and when I’m not painting and creating, I feel very disconnected, a bit empty… I wish there were more days in the week to be able to paint more!
